Investment Reporting Analyst
About the role
The role is to help design, produce, deliver and explain investment data insights and reporting for distribution throughout the firm: Investments, Finance and Actuarial. Reporting to Head of Investment Reporting, we are looking for someone who is eager to expand their experience and knowledge of investments. Responsibilities
- Data Visualisation & Reporting: Use data handling and presentation tools (including Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint) to create visually compelling and enlightening reports, including charts, graphs, and dashboards that summarise complex investment data.
- Monthly & Quarterly Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly investment reports for senior stakeholders across the business demonstrating key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Respond to ad hoc reporting and data presentation requests from stakeholders throughout the team, providing timely insights into specific investment queries or performance metrics.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., portfolio managers, risk teams and structuring teams) to understand data content, business requirements, and reporting needs. Ensure clear communication of findings and recommendations.
- Data Analysis Across Asset Classes: Process and interpret data across various asset classes such as Fixed Income, Derivatives, Private Credit Funds, and other alternative investments. Ensure the accuracy and relevance of the data being reported.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes through automation or enhancements in data collection and visualisation techniques.
Role Requirements
- Hold a Bachelors Degree or hold 1-2 years employment experience in a similar role.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power BI is highly desirable as is experience of database use.
- Investment Knowledge: Prior experience in investments or insurance sectors would be beneficial. Understanding of key financial instruments like Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Private Credit Funds would be valuable.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a broad selection of tasks with a strong focus on quality control in all deliverables.
- Problem-Solving Attitude: A proactive “can-do” attitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently. Continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong Organisational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Strong Communication Skills: Show the ability to present complex information clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Educational Background: A-level standard in Mathematics or Economics; a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or another quantitative field is advantageous.
